Alice Gallery
Alice Gallery’s artistic choices have evolved over time. Its early programme focused on art that resonated with its era, reflecting the excitement of the early 2000s and the transformations brought about by the internet, social media, affordable travel and smartphones. During this period, art moved beyond the studio and into the city, accompanying a sense of possibility and optimism.
As that optimism gave way to polarised debate, rising extremism and environmental anxiety, the gallery’s programme gradually came to offer a space of refuge and wonder. Its exhibitions became an Epicurean response to the upheavals of everyday life: an opportunity to pause, recharge and retain faith in humanity.
The gallery’s approach remains attentive to the individual story of each artwork. Rather than following a fixed vision, its choices have often been guided by intuition and by the works that captured its attention at a particular moment, with connections becoming apparent over time.
At the centre of this approach is the pleasure of living with art. Alice Gallery presents works intended for everyday domestic life, conceived as home-sized icons to be experienced rather than stored away.
