Founded in 2002 by Hazer Özil, Dirimart presents established and emerging artists from Turkey and around the world. Its programme creates a setting for critical dialogue and exchange, paying attention to individual and regional differences while encouraging cosmopolitan perspectives and collaboration. In 2026, its twenty-fourth year, the gallery continues to question and renew the gallery model in Istanbul.

Dirimart’s programme is grounded in conceptualism, political resistance and intellectual rigour. Across its spaces in Dolapdere and Pera in Istanbul and Mayfair in London, it presents established artists including Ayşe Erkmen, İnci Eviner, Canan Tolon, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Sarah Morris, Anselm Reyle, Jorinde Voigt, Tomokazu Matsuyama and Karin Kneffel. Its emerging artists include Çiğdem Aky, Çağla Ulusoy, Berke Yazıcıoğlu and Ebru Duruman.

Through Dirimart and RES Publications, established in 2007, the gallery also maintains a publishing programme encompassing catalogues, artists’ books and books on art theory.
