Galerie Michel Giraud

B23 ●

Paris (FR)

Located on Paris’ Left Bank since March 2001, Galerie Michel Giraud presents twentieth-century art within a district closely associated with Art Deco. Michel Giraud conceived the gallery as a place for collectors, recreating the atmosphere of a collector’s interior from the 1930s, where discoveries and artistic interests could be shared through everyday encounters and exhibitions.

Ceramics occupy a central place in the gallery’s programme and expertise. Its selection includes modern ceramics by artists such as Émile Decoeur and Taxile Doat, alongside works from the second half of the twentieth century by Pierre Bayle and Claude Goutin. The gallery has organised several exhibitions dedicated to ceramics and published reference books on artists including Émile Decoeur.

Its approach highlights the expressive possibilities of ceramic art, bringing together works that reflect the development of the medium through individual practices and artistic collaborations. Ceramics from the second half of the twentieth century form an important part of its collection, tracing the medium’s evolution within contemporary art.

Through its exhibitions, the gallery connects twentieth-century artistic heritage with contemporary innovation and creativity. It offers visitors an immersive encounter with modern ceramics and the work of the later twentieth century, preserving and presenting this artistic legacy.
