Køppe Contemporary
Founded in 2016 by architect Bettina Køppe, Køppe Contemporary is a gallery and presentation platform for sculptural objects at the intersection of art and craft. Its founder brings extensive curatorial experience in contemporary craft to the gallery’s programme.
The gallery works closely with artists who share an interest in the inherent possibilities of materials and the historical qualities of traditional crafts and techniques. Their practices explore the meaning of objects in relation to function and iconography, combining tradition, interpretation and experimentation to create works with contemporary relevance.
Located on the Baltic island of Bornholm, the gallery occupies a house at Rønne Harbour. It presents approximately five exhibitions each year alongside a permanent selection of works by its artists.
